The two main hinges are made from metal. The small see-thru lids are fabricated in such a way that they will not easily break. A tough little case.

"It IS perfect, just smaller than I expected. If the dimensions were included in the description, I overlooked them. Size aside, I love that each side of the case has a ""lid,"" so I don't have to worry about losing something from the other side when I'm getting something out of one side.
