Non-hazardous, non-chrome dye for use on silk, wool, nylon, or any animal fiber. Formulated without the use of hazardous metals, Greener Shades provides all the washfastness and light fastness of the traditional acid dye without relying on metal compounds to achieve bright and beautiful colors. Each 0.5 ounce of dye is able to dye approximately 3 pounds of fiber at 1% Depth of Shade.

Greener Shades Metal Free Dyes are an environmentally responsible choice for dyeing. "I chose to use these dyes as I have breathing issues and wanted to avoid the heavy metals. I have been very pleased with the ease of mixing dye stock, the reliability of the colors over different sessions and the fact that the fibers don't lose any color with rinsing. Though not advised, I have kept the dyes for long periods in a sealed container in the dark and they have continued to be reliable and true to color. I use best safety practices both in the mixing and use of these dyes despite heavy metal-free formula, but I feel safer using these and not exposing myself or the environment to unnecessary risk. Thanks for a great product. Yes, they are worth the extra cost."
