"My beginner spindle is perfect for learning as the weight is designed for newbies"
"I love this spindle! Great balance, light weight, easy to use. It's my second one! My dog chewed up my original Ashford Spindle I got several years ago. I always go with tried-and-true products! Thank you, Woolery, for never letting me down!"
"Just started my spinning journey and this is an absolutely perfect spindle! I truly love this spindle! I was referred to the Ashford Student Drop Spindle as the person who was teaching me to spin also had used it when starting. I am so grateful to be starting with this spindle as it is very helpful as a beginner. Beautiful quality and makes absolutely stunning yarn."
"I’m new at the drop spindle and was nearly ready to give up until I tried the Ashford Student Drop Spindle. Having tried a few other spindle brands and sizes, I found this spindle the easiest for me to handle. The weight and size are perfect. I give this spindle 5 stars!"
"This drop spindle is well-made. It is a little larger so that you can spin more onto the shaft."
"I mostly spin on a spinning wheel, but I saw a YouTube video about drop spindles and wanted to try it. There is a learning curve associated with coordinating the spinning of the spindle, and actually holding and drafting the wool. BUT, once you work out which hand to use for which action, it's really fun to spin and draft this way. I keep mine at my desk and take small spinning breaks throughout the day or during Zoom meetings."
"My daughter loves practicing on her new drop spindle!"
"I bought this to learn how to spin on a drop spindle. It’s reasonably priced. The basics are there. I watched several YouTube videos and started giving it a whirl. . . I’m using the 56 Wool top. I struggled at first. Then came the lumpy yarn, progressing towards thinner and more even and consistent. It’s wonderful to see what a person can do with this simple tool."
