"I like this ball winder because I can get more of my handspun yarn on it, unlike the more traditional ball winder which is very limited on the amount you can wind on. Plus with the more traditional ball winder I would often experience yarn slipping off and getting caught in the gear. I have not had that problem with my mega wool winder. It was worth the money!"

"I Love this yarn winder! It is so very quiet in comparison to my electric winder. The bearings move super smoothly. It is sturdy and has a quality feel to it. The clamp and bottom have rubber pads and feet so my table does not get scratched. It is easy to operate; just attach the yarn through the guide and into the little slots at the top of the winding spindle and in a clockwise, circular motion move the winding handle to make perfect center pull yarn balls/cakes every time. Totally worth the investment!"

"I love this!!! It's just what I wanted. . . sturdy, quiet, easy to use!!! I do A LOT of ball winding from skeins for my weaving work and have gone through so many of the plastic ball winders that I decided to pay the extra money for the Mega Wool Winder. If I consider how many times I've had to replace the plastic ones, this one I believe will prove to be much more economical in the long run. Plus, it works so smoothly and is a pleasure to use. A very worthwhile purchase!!!"
