TAPESTRY LOOMS

Also called frame looms, these are extremely easy to warp and weave: no need for a warping board, just stretch the warp yarn from top to bottom back and forth across the loom. This means of course that your weaving is limited not just by the width of the loom (which is the case with any loom, small or large) but also by the length (or height) of the loom. These frame looms are ideal to make a tapestry to hang on the wall.

BEAD/TAPESTRY LOOM: this loom has a 7.5" weaving width and 2 pairs of interchangeable stretcher bars (6" and 17") allowing you to weave projects such as bead bracelets, medallions, hairpins, etc. as well as longer tapestries, purses, cases, etc. The sturdy loom, made of strong PVC pipe, does not include instructions; we recommend you purchase the book "Copper Loom - Beadwork & Tapestry"; the authors are the loom manufacturers. SCHACHT SCHOOL LOOM
Sitting upright, this 15" by 25" sturdy frame loom can be used on a table or on the floor. The package includes basic instructions, a weaving needle and two pick-up sticks. SCHACHT TAPESTRY LOOM
This simple loom holds a continuous warp under tension; sheds are formed through the use of heddle bars and string heddles; only 2 heddle bars are needed for traditional tapestry weaving but 4 are included with this loom so beginner weavers can experiment with 4-harness weaving. Allows a 60" long warp to be put directly on the loom. Made of oil finished maple. Includes assembly instructions. Available in 18" and 25" weaving widths. LECLERC PENELOPE LOOM

Unique in its design, this is a tapestry loom with a rigid heddle (the heddle is fixed and cannot be used as a beater). It has a weaving width of 22" and stands upright. It comes with a 6-dent heddle and all the tools shown in the picture. Its set-up allows weavers to create several tapestries in a row. Suggestion: use a tube of natural "Maysville cotton warp" for the warp and several colors of "Fingerlakes Soft Wool 3-ply" for the tapestry weft.

HARRISVILLE TAPESTRY LOOM
The Friendly line of looms from Harrisville continues with their selection of tapestry looms. Available in two sizes - 29.75" by 24" (pictured) and 29.75" by 48" (this is weaving dimensions), these looms offer the home and school an exciting alternative to the usual art and craft activities. ASHFORD TAPESTRY LOOM
Made "down under" using New Zealand silverbeech, this Ashford vertical floor loom is easy to assemble and easy to use. It features a revolving frame for quick and easy warping, height adjustment, pivot action and adjustable warp tensioning. It comes with 2 tapestry bobbins. Available in two weaving widths and lengths. the smaller width (21") also includes an adjustable height tool tray.

LECLERC GOBELIN

Modeled after the looms in the "Gobelin" school in Paris, this particular set-up can be used as a tapestry loom or for making rugs. It has two shafts, a beater and two treadles to make the shed. The warp can obtain a very high tension by tightening two heavy screws located on each side of the loom. The loom is six feet high and has a depth of 20". Comes with 200 heddles, a 6-dent reed, 1 wooden tapestry bobbin, 12 styrene tapestry bobbins and the books "Warp and Weave" and "I Weave, You Weave". Requires assembly. PRICES INCLUDES SHIPPING.
