Schacht Floor Looms

Made in Colorado by Schacht Spindle Company These looms have been developed for both performance and appearance. They are carefully crafted from hardwoods known for their strength and durability and are shipped to you fully finished and assembled (except for Wolf Pup and Cranbrook). They now all come with a stainless steel reed and stainless steel heddle bars. Schacht catalog/brochure is $3.00.

SCHACHT STANDARD LOOM

The Standard is available in 36" and 46" weaving widths, with low or high castle, in maple or cherry, with 8 harnesses or 4-now-4-later. Weight ranges from 100 lbs. to 141 lbs. depending on the number of harnesses.

Includes your choice of stainless steel reed (6, 8. 10, 12, 15 or 20-dent), a boat shuttle with bobbin, a brass reed hook, 3 lease sticks, stainless steel heddle bars, maintenance manual and flat steel heddles (800 for the 36", 1000 for the 46") - select option for inserted eye below if you prefer those. The Standard is available in 36" and 45" weaving widths, with low or high castle, in maple or cherry, with 8 harnesses, or 4-now-4-later. Options are a sectional warp beam, double back beam, treadle tracker, extra treadles, lamp holder and raddle. ALL LOOM PRICES INCLUDE FREIGHT within the continental US.

SCHACHT WOLF PUP LOOM

The new, lightweight, go anywhere and yes, a floor loom too, Pup. Much like the Baby and Mighty Wolf looms but designed for you to take it anywhere. Assembled weight is only 38 lbs. When folded, the Pup has a depth of only 16". It uses a simple direct tie-up system. You might call this a workshop loom because of its compact size and low weight, but there is no reason this can't be your first floor loom too. It comes with 4 shafts and the weaving width is 18". It is a kit loom that requires assembly, but it is small enough to be shipped by UPS. Includes handy treadle tracker, a mini-clipboard that attaches to the back of the loom (pictured further below) plus a stainless steel reed of your choice ( 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 or 20-dent), a brass reed hook, 3 lease sticks and flat steel heddles (or select inserted eye heddle option below if you prefer).

SCHACHT BABY WOLF LOOM

Folding to a depth of 18", the Baby Wolf, with a 26" weaving width, is the perfect workshop loom. Weight ranges from 53 to 71 lbs. depending on the number of harnesses. Made of maple, the loom comes ready for warping and includes your choice of stainless steel reed (6, 8, 10, 12, 15 or 20-dent), a brass reed hook, 3 lease sticks, stainless steel heddle bars, a maintenance manual and flat steel heddles (400 for the 4-harness, 800 for the 8-harness) - or select inserted eye heddle option below if you prefer. Choose either 4 harnesses, 8 harnesses, or 4-harnesses-now-4-later. Options include a stroller, "Wolf Trap" (a handy accessory that fits on the breast beam and holds your shuttles and other tools within easy reach ), raddle, high castle tray, treadle tracker, double back beam, height extender (raises loom 2" for tall weavers) and sectional warp beam. SCHACHT MIGHTY WOLF LOOM

The Mighty Wolf, a larger version of the Baby Wolf, comes with a handy accessory tray and a weaving width of 36". Available with 4 harnesses, 8 harnesses, or 4-harnesses now-4 -later. Included are your choice of stainless steel reed (6, 8, 10, 12, 15 or 20-dent), 3 lease sticks, a brass reed hook, stainless steel heddle bars, a maintenance manual and flat steel heddles (800 for the 4-harness and 1000 for the 8-harness) - or select inserted eye heddle option below if you prefer. Options are a stroller, raddle, "Wolf Trap", treadle tracker, double back beam, extra treadles, height extender (raises loom 2") and sectional warp beam. The Schacht Benches are available in maple and cherry and will fit all their looms. They feature an open storage bin under the seat and are 30" long by 14" deep. The bench seat height is adjustable from 19" to 24" and has been designed to offer both a flat and a slanted seat position. Bench bags made of durable Cordura cloth are optional.

Schacht Cranbrook Floor Looms

Now manufactured by Schacht, the Cranbrook looms are strong, sturdy countermarche looms, built of maple and finished with lacquer. They come in 3 weaving widths: 48", 60" and 72", with 4 or 8 harnesses. Weight ranges from 430 lbs. to 585 lbs. depending on size and number of harnesses. They feature an overhead beater, bronze gears and hardware, and locking treadles (excellent for tapestry and rug weaving). Some assembly is required. They include a stainless steel reed of your choice (6, 8, 10, 12 or 15-dent), a brass reed hook, 16 warp sticks, 2 lease sticks and 1000 Texsolv heddles. Options are: double back beam, suspended tool shelf, raddle, beater weight, tension box and rail, extra treadles, worm gear, matching bench and sectional warp beam.
