 Louet Julia Spinning Wheel
Based on the Louet Victoria and easy to assemble and disassemble, this is a full-sized, upright wheel featuring Scotch tension. Wheel diameter is 20" and height to orifice is 28" (total height is 29 1/2"). Weight is 12 lbs. The base with treadles can be disassembled from the upright with the main wheel (unit does not fold) for easy transportation. Treadles are each 4 1/2" wide, wider than the Victoria treadles (3 3/4" wide). Width at base is 16 1/2". Flyer is the same as on the Victoria. Ratios are 6, 8.5, 12.5 and 19 to 1. Removable insert provides 2 orifice sizes (8 & 12 mm). All rotating parts run on ball bearings. Made of lacquered beech and birch plywood; the wheel is laminated hardwood with a "birch" exterior finish. Bobbins are the same as Victoria birch bobbins. Separate 3-bobbin lazy kate with adjustable brake.
