What Customers Say

Rated 4.8 out of 5 — 18 verified reviews

A Nostepinne is an old fashioned handy wooden yarn ball winder. This one, made by Kromski, has a nice feel in the hand and makes a nice pull skein. Available unfinished and with a clear, mahogany or walnut finish.

A beautiful must have

"This is a beautiful, well-made tool. Its’s lightweight and portable. To me, a nostepinne is an essential part of my knitting/crocheting process. I enjoy the relaxing rhythm of hand winding my yarn skeins, allowing me to get familiar with my yarn before I cast on. It’s just one small step closer to creating “from the beginning!”"

Excellent size to wind any

"Excellent size to wind any size ball. Smooth, beautiful finish. Large enough to hold easily but not cumbersome to use."

Sharon S. (5/5)

Perfect for purpose

"Exactly as wanted and expected. Smooth finish, comfortable size"

Wonderful!

"Feels great in the hand, looks great (ordered mahogany to match my spindle), and works fabulously!"

Great for tangly skeins!

"Bought it to untangle the skeins I bought from the store which always seem to have clumps in them. I’d rather deal with the fussy skeins on my own time, separate from while warping my loom or when winding a shuttle. Resulting yarn balls came out great. When warping, they don’t even skate across the table. No muss no fuss."

Great Tool, Not-So-Great Video

"This is a great tool for winding small amounts of yarn -- or yarn that comes in hanks that are too big around for a swift. However. . . I found the ""figure-8"" winding video problematic. The straightforward technique where you keep winding at an established angle is much easier for me."

Kromski Nostepinne

"I am pleased with the quality and price of the nostepinne. It exceeded my expectations when I saw it in person."

Well, this is so much

"Well, this is so much better than using my thumb to wind a center-pull-ball when I don't want to drag out the mechanical ball winder."
