Glimåkra Wooden Swift
Crafted of wood; for skeins as heavy as 3 or 4 lbs.
This umbrella swift is made from birch and holds skeins up to 72" around. Constructed and finished to get the most appropriate surface for the yarn. These are the workhorse swifts that we use in our shop.
You can clamp these swifts to stand vertically, as shown. Or you can mount them horizontally which can make for easier un-winding. Use the swift in conjunction with a ball winder.
