Product Details: |
Strauch, 200 Series, Drum Carder The 200 series uses a smaller sprocket yielding a turning ratio of 4:1 Because of this the frame height is 4" and therefore this carder has to be at the edge of the work surface, allowing the crank to clear the table.
The 200 series drum carders are the only series that comes with a choice of carding cloth for the large drum: fine, medium, and coarse:
- Fine-128 tpi.cloth. Designed to handle ALL fibers.including Merino, Llama, Alpaca, Cashmere blend, dog hair and other exotics.
- Medium-98 tpi.cloth. Can be used successfully for coarse to middle range fiber such as Cheviot and Romney as well as adult mohair. Useful for long fibers such as Border Leicester to get a deep batt. NOT recommended for finer fibers.
- Coarse-72 tpi.cloth. For very coarse fibers specifically for felting.
Available in regular and double-wide:
- Regular -The large drum is 7" in diameter x 8¼" wide. The small drum is 2" in diameter x 8" wide. The carder produces a batt approximately 8" wide x 22" long. The frame is 24" long, 12" wide, 4" high.
- Double-wide-The large drum is 7" in diameter x 15¼" wide. The small drum is 2" in diameter x 15¼" wide. The carder produces a batt approximately 15" wide x 22" long. The frame is 24" long, 18½" wide, 4" high.
Includes:
- Brush Attachment.
- The popular Knuckle-Saving-Batt-Pick, an invaluable tool for removing the batt without damage to the equipment or the user.
- A Doffer/Cleaner Brush to thoroughly and easily clean any residual fibers from the carding drum.
- A small cleaner/dabber brush for use on the licker drum.
