Wool Blend Yarns

A word about on-line color cards

For the yarns we sell, we offer on-line color cards in addition to the color cards by the manufacturer. The on-line color cards are a good way to compare colors but please realize that a number of factors come into play when attempting to judge color on a computer screen. How the picture was prepared by us, the impact the format (jpg for the most part) has on the graphic and the set-up of your computer screen may mean that certain colors (most notably red hues) will not be totally accurate. If true colors are an important component controlling your color selection, then we suggest you purchase a color card.

FINGERLAKES ANGORA LUXURY Color Card

Fingerlakes Woolen Mill is the only US mill that manufactures angora yarn for the hand knitting and weaving market. Angora comes from the long-haired angora rabbit (not angora goats - that's mohair). It is wonderfully soft, elegant and luxurious. Ounce for ounce, it is seven times warmer than sheep's wool. Angora Luxury, a 50/50 blend with soft wool will dress up any garment, giving it instant glamour and a feeling of pure luxury. Fingerlakes uses only plucked angora which ensures that the length of the angora fiber is significant enough to stay part of the yarn and not shed. This is a 2-ply yarn. 50% wool 50% angora. US made.
