TABLE LOOMS
|
|
Table looms offer some advantages for the weaver not found in other looms. They are designed to take up less space but can offer 4, 8 or 12-shafts for very complex weaving. This means they are great for a first time weaver, just getting their feet wet, but can address the needs of an experienced weaver wishing for a sample loom. While they can be table looms with hand operated "treadles," some can be set up with a special table that permits some foot treadles. Many fold and thus are easy to transport to gathering or to store out of the way. How you weave on a table loom is nearly identical to a floor loom, so starting out with this type of loom is a good way to learn to weave but at a much lower cost than a floor loom

15.5" or 27.5" hand-operated loom available with 8 harnesses. Made of beech, it is portable and easily collapsible even when the loom is dressed. It has an overhead beater that stays out of the way when throwing the shuttle. Beater flips away for easy threading; locking mechanism holds the loom closed. Very portable at 17 lbs. and 5.5" high when folded. Comes with Texsolv polyester heddles and warping instructions. Option: Floor stand (pictured with old Louet Kombo loom).

LOUET TABLE LOOM - The Kombo
The Kombo looms provide you with up-to-date weaving technology. The overhead beater system is easy to operate. The Kombo folds flat to a convenient 6" for ease of storage or moving. Choose from 16 inch or 28 inch weaving width, from there you can continue to build with a four shaft extension kit to go from the original four harness to an eight harness loom. Add a floor stand, and this table top loom becomes a standing loom.
All Louët looms come supplied with "Texsolv" string heddles and tie-up cords allowing for quiet operation and easy tie-ups. Also provided with the loom are: lease sticks, tie-up, 2 flat shuttles and instructions. The loom is made of lacquered beech and comes as a kit. Shipping weight for the Kombo 16 is 26 lbs and for the Kombo 28 is 38 lbs.

LECLERC - DIANA 
24" 16 SHAFT COMPU-DOBBY TABLE LOOM
This loom may be the best value on the market for a dobby loom with "more than the normal number of shafts." Complex weaving has never been easier. New from Leclerc, this 16 shaft loom is designed to operate either as a table model or as a floor unit. As a table top unit the operator uses the single handle at the front of the loom, cycling up and down. With treadles and stand you use alternate treadles to cycle the loom. The interface box for this unit is self contained and does all the shaft selection for you based on the design you have set up in the program. It is designed to operate with future Leclerc computer units being designed for the Nilus, Nilus II, Nilart and Colonial looms. Supported by both Mac and PC software that is free and can be downloaded from Leclerc's site. This package includes galvanized steel reed (choose dent size below), 1,000 inserted eye heddles, one boat shuttle, one reed/heddle hook, 2 metal lease sticks, 2 beam sticks, instructions and a copy of "Warp and Weave." LECLERC - Voyageur
The Voyageur is available as a 9.5" 8-shaft table top model, 15.75" 4- shaft, 8-shaft and 12- shaft, and 24" 4-shaft, 8-shaft, 12-shaft and 16-shaft model. The 9.5" weighs only 16 lbs. and will fold to slide under an airline seat. It comes with 300 9.5" inserted eye heddles, a stainless steel 12-dent reed and a custom made bag with pouch for tools and miscellaneous items.
The 15 .75" 4-shaft weighs 16.5 lbs., the 8-shaft weighs 20 .5 lbs, and the 12-shaft weighs 26 lbs. Both 4-shaft and 8-shaft looms come equipped as above but with 400 heddles. The 15.75" 12-shaft includes 500 heddles. All models fold easily.
The 24" 4-shaft weighs 25 lbs, the 8-shaft weighs 29 lbs, the 12-shaft weighs 33 lbs and the 16-shaft weighs 39 lbs. All come equipped as above but with 600 heddles. The 15.75" 12-shaft includes 500 heddles.

Stand and treadle package: available only as a package. Gives you a stand plus a treadle kit that will will provide a 4 treadle 4 harness tie-up.
