Leclerc was established in 1876, producing weaving tools for weavers from all over the world. Leclerc looms are sturdy, well-built, made of selected kiln dried Canadian hard maple. Looms are shipped knocked down for easier handling; all looms have 6 treadles and all (except Compact and Fanny II models that come with a 12-dent carbon reed) include your choice of carbon reed (6, 8, 10 or 12-dent - or pay a supplement if you prefer a stainless steel reed), a heddle hook, 2 lease sticks, 1 boat shuttle, 1 dozen styrene bobbins (except for Compact and Fanny II models), the book "Warp and Weave" and assembly instructions and video. All (except for Compact) come with at least 1,000 wire heddles; if you prefer inserted eye heddles, price is slightly higher. Sectional warp beams allowing the warp to be easily and quickly beamed by one person, are also available. A tension box, yardage counter and bobbin rack to be used with the sectional warp beam are also available. A flying shuttle beater and double warp beam are optional for 45" and wider looms. The Colonial I is available in 45" (185 lbs.) and 60" (219 lbs.) weaving widths - folds to depth of 33" and can be converted into an 8 or 12 harness loom by adding one or two 4-extra harness kits. Comes with 12 styrene bobbins. Special optional attachments include overhead beater. A computer dobby system is also available. V2 Improvements include wider and cleaner shed, Back Hinge Treadle is now lower in front for easier treading. Leclerc Gobelin

Modeled after the looms in the "Gobelin" school in Paris, this particular set-up can be used as a tapestry loom or for making rugs. It has two shafts, a beater and two treadles to make the shed. The warp can obtain a very high tension by tightening two heavy screws located on each side of the loom. The loom is six feet high and has a depth of 20". Comes with 200 heddles, a 6-dent carbon reed (or pay a supplement if you prefer a stainless steel 6-dent reed), 1 wooden tapestry bobbin, 12 styrene tapestry bobbins and the books "Warp and Weave" and "I Weave, You Weave". Leclerc benches are beautifully finished to match the looms; they fit under the breast beam of the loom when not in use. There is a storage compartment under the seat and 2 open sides for shuttles etc . Two sizes for the regular bench: small (38" long and 23" high) for Artisat or Inca and large (44" long and 26" high) for Nilus II, Fanny II, Colonial and Nilart.
