Inkle

Author: Evelyn Neher

From the preface:

I am sure I cannot adequately speak for the content of this book as I know little of weaving and, to be more exact, the inkle loom. I only know that the name of Evelyn Neher and inkle are synonymous.

The inkle loom .was first brought to my attention better than twenty years ago by the author when she taught weaving at the Willimantic Summer Art and Craft Workshop. This era must have been the renaissance of the inkle and this was apparent in her classes for a number of years. There were evening and weekend "happenings" in the form of "inkle parties" for any and all who were interested. A great deal to do with this interest in the inkle is directly attributable to Evelyn. Her enthusiasm, her sparkle, her wit and her expertise served as the catalyst. This book is a complete introduction to every operative aspect of inkle weaving. The pages not only tell how inkling is done but also show how to do it. This edition will be helpful to schools, institutions, hobbyists, and craftsmen alike.
