  Creative Overshot

Author: Margaret B. Windeknecht

The primary focus of this monograph is to encourage the weaver to create original overshot threadings.

You will be shown several different ways to approach the design of an overshot pattern. The first step will be the exploration of the structure of the weave and its relation to twill. This is followed by a the study of several innovative approaches to creating an overshot threading, beginning with the expansion of a twill weave, and followed by the creation of a basic pattern shape on squared paper, using first a breakup of space and then a linear approach to the design.
