Feltmaking – The Whys and Wherefores Case Manager Special Investigator Katherine Horchler, Syracuse, NY Tom Sellers RED FLAGS / INVESTIGATION On Wednesday, November 9, 2005, the Special Investigations Unit met with the Wausau Claims Office in Syracuse, New York, to recognize the outstanding “fraud fighting” efforts of Technical Claims Specialist Katherine Horchler. Katee was presented a Medal of Distinction Award in connection with a claim she handled that led to the disqualification of workers’ compensation benefits of the claimant. The claimant was working as a babysitter while receiving workers’ compensation benefits and was found to have misrepresented the scope of these activities during her testimony before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
